I'm pretty sure Battle Beyond The Stars is under copyright by Roger Corman's New World Pictures.

BTW there is a copyright notice at the very end of the end credits of Battle Beyond The Stars. It looks like it was intentionally blurred just to enough to make the notice illegible. I'm pretty sure though that the copyright notice does contain a "C" within a circle along with the year 1980 and the copyright holders are below that with,"All rights Reserved." New Concorde Entertainment and New Horizons Home Entertainment have been the only ones to have a copyright on the Corman New World Pictures when it came to dvd rights. New Concorde got bought by Disney briefly which did nothing with New Horizons,so Corman bought it back and signed a deal with Shout Factory DVD to release all of the New Horizons/New World Pictures titles that he owns the rights to. Battle Beyond Stars(1980),Rock N Roll High School(1979), Death Race 2000(1975),Star Crash(1978),&Piranha are just a few although Starcrash never got an American dvd release until Shout Factory signed a deal with Corman.
